Last year — as the fifth month of my job hunt came to a close — I stumbled upon a 15-minute film called Chasing Failure by Ryan Leak. It challenged me to think about what I would do if I knew I could not fail:
- Move to another city?
- Start my own business?
- Become a full-time nanny?
- Turn a hidden talent into a career?
All sorts of things came to mind.
To make a long story short, this film inspired me to think outside the box about my career options — outside planning jobs, the traditional nine-to-fives, and the cubicles. Additionally, it fueled my interest in integrating more creative pursuits into my daily life as I seek the job that’s right for me.
When you have time, watch the film in its entirety and let me know what you would do if you knew you could not fail. It could be something personal or professional — it’s really up to you! If nothing comes to mind, enjoy the film all the same.
