A while back, I blogged about the message behind the EP logo design. Since then, I’ve created a second logo to attach to future works — including business cards. This project was fairly simple and required two things: my name and a single graphic that would pair well with the EP tagline — i.e, “Marked by gratitude for the joy that is here and that is to come.”
(As a side note, my plan is to continue to grow the EP blog into something that clearly represents me, my interests, and my story, so I’m always thinking about ways to tie my work back to this page. With that said, we’re just getting started, folks. Everything is a work in progress…)
Anyway, I love flowers and how they add a feminine touch to most things. For this reason, I knew I would incorporate a blossom of some sort into my personal, all-purpose logo design. To start, I did a little research on one that has been a source of aesthetic inspiration for me in previous projects: the hydrangea. In short, hydrangeas are among the most humble flower types and several sources link them to gratitude… (Who knew?!)
So without further ado, here’s the final design as it appears on my business cards (left – front, right – back). If you’re interested in ordering your own — particularly in the square shape you see here — I suggest going through MOO:

Happy creating!
